IQ

I was a bit bored today and I inadvertently clicked on an IQ test advertised somewhere on a webpage. As the first couple of questions were interesting, I decided to to all 40 questions and see what the results are.

Here is the result:

So what does it mean to have an IQ of 138? I googled it and found that I have a "very superior" intelligence quotient and that I am brighter than about 99% of the population. Apparently I should be a Top Civil Servant, a Research Scientist, Engineer, Physician, Surgeon, or at worse a Lawyer.

I'm none of those, so am I wasting my intelligence?
Or is it just a scheme so that someone can send more spam to me, making me the fool?

Incidentally, the score is about the same when I did a proper IQ test when I was 12 and 15.

Maybe I am a genius. Yeah, right!

Verbier

Last week I went away with my girlfriend to go up to the mountains and to enjoy a bit of snowsports. We rented a chalet in Verbier, a well-known ski-resort here in Switzerland.

At first I was a bit afraid that there wouldn't be enough snow as the winter has been crap so far. When we got there Saturday all my fears were confirmed as there wasn't any snow in the resort, only high up in the mountains. On Sunday we hit the slopes and even though it was a sunny day the snow was not good.

Then a miracle happened. It started snowing.

From then on, the snow was just amazingly beautiful, almost perfect for a snowboarder like me. Shame that the weather itself was cloudy all the time and I barely saw any sun while boarding, but at least there was some good snow, some fresh powder. I was loving it.

Getting away for a week is also very nice. Felt like I was away for ages.

But tomorrow normal life resumes...

Dreamgirls

I went to watch Dreamgirls yesterday. I'm not a musical fan, but I though the story might be interesting.

And it was interesting indeed.

It was based on something real and I could see where the real stuff are. Curtis Taylor Jr. = Berry Gordy. Rainbow = Motown. The Dreams = The Supremes. Deena Jones = Diana Ross. For Jimmy Early I'm not sure, it might be Smokey Robinson, although when he was singing "Patience" with Deena, the song was like Marvin Gaye's What's Going On, he even wore the same hood. That group with a little kid = Jackson 5. Etc etc.

Even the payola charges were real. But then again, how can you stop something like payola?

On another note, I can't understand why Jennifer Hudson was classified as a Supporting Actress? Her role in the movie was essential, and it was Beyonce who was more of a Supporting Actress than she was.

Back to Arcade's Fire Neon Bible. A must-have!

77th Geneva Motorshow

And it's here again, the Geneva motorshow. I've been going to this exposition with my press pass (courtesy of HAI magazine) since 2001. So it's my 7th time, and this is what I can say about yesterday's press day:

• Toyota figured out the big queue for food so they hid the press eating area. The food is still good.
• Nissan's food is good as usual.
• Nice bartender at Lancia. Shame they don't serve beer, but a screwdriver is nice (at 11.30am)
• The girls are like usual, the beautiful ones at Lancia, FIAT, and Alfa Romeo.
  
• MINI changed it's stand but it's still trendy. The afterwork drinks was cool.
• Veltsin's suddenly tastes good at BMW.
• Big rolls of parmesan cheese at Maserati and Ferrari.
• The best sushi is still at Daihatsu.
• Nissan has Playstation 3 hooked up while Seat had a WTCC car converted to a gaming thing where you can play a WTCC game (for PC) with a eye-thingy.
• Table football at Ford.
• I missed the footballs again (at either Kia or Hyundai).
• I can still make free phone calls courtesy of Volkswagen.
  

Oh, as for the cars, well, only the A5 and the M5 Touring is memorable. The rest are just that, cars.

Next year again!

Tour de Midlands

Last weekend: London Luton - Oxford - Silverstone - Leicester - Stamford (& Oakham) - back to London Luton again to do the birthday gift my girlfriend gave to me and to visit friends. We drove around 250 miles in 3 days in our rental car.
